Plan and manage sub-contraction transport operations, within carefully defined transport budgets.
Communication with internal and external customers and meeting deadlines.
Deliver excellent customer service and strive towards transport cost saving initiatives.
Develop upon current external sub-contraction network and promote a health and safety culture with the intention of achieving a zero harm workplace for both internal and external drivers.
Accountabilities:
Produce and deliver a daily sub-contraction schedule by depot.
Manage drivers & subcontractors remotely.
Review transport planning and identify potential cost saving opportunities and efficiencies.
Liaison with depot operations management.
Assist with other day-to-day operational duties and problem solving.
Provide a high level of service to ensure that orders are fulfilled and that customer complaints are minimised but are professionally resolved if they arise.
Review and develop the sub-contractor base.
Reporting to the Transport and Office Managers.
Experience:
Transport Planning, preferably within the waste industry and or an understanding on bulk transport.
Financial knowledge in costing‘s, P&Ls and budgeting.
Cost saving initiatives in transport operations.
Ability to work within a very fast paced office environment, and able to cope within change and pressurised circumstances.
KPI reporting to explain performance and target areas for improvement.
Providing transport quotations.
Managing and developing different relationships at various levels, with both the internal and external customer network.
Skills:
UK Geographical knowledge.
Excellent PC skills inc. Microsoft Excel skills.
Communication and organisational skills.
Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
Reliable and flexible in approach to work.
Qualifications: CPC certificate holder desirable.
Based: Daventry
Driving Licence: Full licence required (will be required to visit sites and customers).
